The Big Tent Ideas Festival would not be possible without the generous support of our Festival Partners.

The Northern Powerhouse Partnership

The Northern Powerhouse Partnership (NPP) is a cross-party, not for profit organisation that works with businesses and civic leaders to increase the contribution the North of England makes to the UK economy. Set up by former Chancellor George Osborne, who chairs NPP, the organisation produces original research, encourages innovative thinking and hosts thought-provoking events to encourage new policy ideas which will improve the North’s quality of life and economy, and promote it as a place to work, study, live and invest.

MediaCityUK is a joint venture between Peel L&P and Legal and General Capital. The development is home to BBC North, ITV, the University of Salford, dock10 and innovation hub – The Landing, as well as a number of blue-chip companies including Ericsson, Kellogg’s, The Hut Group and Huawei. It also hosts over 250 smaller creative and tech businesses.

Peel L&P’s and Legal and General Capital inclusive and collaborative place-led approach to the future development of MediaCityUK, as a key district of Salford and Greater Manchester, will ensure it continues to grow from strength to strength over the coming decade.

Founded in 2011, the Patchwork Foundation is a UK-based charity committed to strengthening democracy. We are focused on communities and individuals that are traditionally underrepresented, and seek to engage young people from these communities to encourage their positive integration into British democracy and civil society. We are not affiliated with any political party and do not promote a particular political view. We do, however, work on the promotion of mainstream political and social participation and work with the main political parties and democratic institutions to support this agenda.
